Do you have a contract?
I provide a 12-month (52 week) contract beginning and ending in August every year. This contract is for private music lessons in my home studio based on a flat 52-week tuition rate (not a per-lesson rate), which can be paid monthly, quarterly or yearly. It is possible to break the contract before the year is up, and it is also possible to begin a contract after August.

How often and how long are lessons?
Lessons are either one half hour, 45 minutes or one hour per week.

What is your lesson schedule?
The schedule for music lessons follows the Denver Public School year calendar, including its major vacations during the school year. Excluding my summer vacation, music lessons will take place during the summer months of June, July and August. Megan Kelley, Inc. operates year-round. Students are not given the option to quit in the summer time and resume again during the school year.

What is your cancellation policy?
Refunds and credits are not available. Make-up lessons may be offered in case of an emergency/sickness if there is an available slot open in the schedule. During the summer months of June, July and August, make-up lessons will be offered in the event of a scheduling conflict, as long as 24-hour notice has been given. Last minute cancellations and schedule changes made less than 24-hours of the lesson time cannot be rescheduled unless there is an emergency. All scheduling notifications and changes are to be made using My Music Staff.

What do I need to bring to the lesson?
Method books, sheet music, notebooks, a 3 ring binder and any other necessary materials for music lessons are the responsibility of the client to purchase. On occasion, I may provide method books and supplemental materials for the student through my book recycling program.

Will there be opportunities to perform?
The culmination of our work together is a large annual student recital each spring. This event features a hired band and grand piano set in a professional venue. The recital is a collaborative experience between the students and myself and is a highly anticipated and accomplished event. Two songs are performed from memory by each student. Date and time TBA.
